Housing at the center of the New Urban Agenda

After the first experience in Bogota 2012 and Monterrey 2015, the III Latin American and Caribbean Forum on Housing and Habitat 2018 is a part of the larger initiative called the Urban Housing Practitioner's Hub (UHPH). This is a regional platform for knowledge management and promotion of urban habitat best practices, which will be officially presented at this event.

As H-III recognized, housing is a key element in the construction of cities. Hence the Forum will highlight the progress made in the sector towards the implementation of the NUA. Through practices, approaches, models, and policies from the region, the Forum will showcase how housing interventions can actually contribute to a more holistic habitat approach thus contributing to create more integrated, inclusive, resilient and sustainable settlements and cities.

On this occasion, Habitat for Humanity, together with Cities Alliance, UN Habitat and other UHPH partners, and with the special collaboration of the government of the Dominican Republic send out an invitation for this space of regional exchange and discussion to share lessons learned, trends and challenges in the subject of housing and urban habitat, to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from June 12 to 14, 2018.
